Default Why better titles on HD DVD?

I'm sure this has been answered before. I'm a bluray supporter but it's getting hard to ignore some of the great HDDVD titles out right now. Most of the releases are from studios supporting both Bluray and HD DVD. What gives? I'm not sure why great titles like Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, etc.. and recent announcements for HDDVD like Star Trek TOS, Lord of the Rings, etc. I'm aware that Universal not releasing titles for Bluray (which is another questions I have, why not?) so what's the issue with the other titles??

Mostly one studio: Universal.

Warner is catching up this year, and Paramount keeps in step. You should look at the release list for upcoming BD.

I think Universal will be forced to release on BD sometime this year.

Why is Universal exclusive to HD-DVD? That's the way they've drawn their lines I guess. I don't know the details of how this alliance came about but that's not really important. None of these studios have ever said they will NEVER support the competing format.

Anyway I don't understand your question. You've named 3 titles and 1 trilogy. Since you're a bluray supporter, I assume you know the bluray collection. Does the HD-DVD collection appeal to you more than bluray? Maybe you should get an HD-DVD drive...?

I'd like to see these movies on bluray too but it's not "hard to ignore" them when I have a great collection of blurays and the great titles coming out in 2007 to look forward to.

Batman Begins and V for Vendetta are Warner and will be out on Blu-Ray soon; Warner has already made the commitment to "catch up" on Blu-Ray.

Star Trek TOS (and the movies) and LoTR will will both be on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

Meanwhile the biggest hits of the last few years Spiderman and Pirates of the Caribbean will all be Blu-Ray exclusive.

Don't hold your breadth regarding Warner, they are playing favorites. It doesn't take 1 year to bring a title to BD thats already been release on HDDVD. They are trying to prolong the format war for whatever reason.

I suppose you guys bring up some good points. Looks like most of the titles I'm currently interested in are from Universal so I guess that's the problem. Also, regarding Warner, I notice several of their BD titles that are also offered on HD DVD do not inlucude a Dolby TRUEHD or DTS HD track on the BD version. That's something else I don't get. I feel like Bluray get's the shaft a little from Warner with regard to audio format and delayed title releases vs HD DVD. Hopefully this will all catch up soon.
