Don't hold your breadth regarding Warner, they are playing favorites. It doesn't take 1 year to bring a title to BD thats already been release on HDDVD. They are trying to prolong the format war for whatever reason.

You do realize that they have the same copy protection. So if it is "cracked" then blu-ray is cracked as well. This is something people ignore. Also its not a crack. You may want to read into it before stating something is cracked. Its a temporary issue for both sides that can and will be corrected.

If you can't wait then buy an HD-DVD player. I have both formats and they both provide a great picture, excluding BD inital release titles.

I expect to start seeing Universal titles by 2008 on BD, so I'll be more than content with the other 90 percent studio support and exclusives from the likes of Disney, Fox, etc. in the interim.

You can keep on your hope because it may take longer than you think. All I can say that when war is over, one of them is going be standard so all studios will be released on one of them.

Yoda: Hmm! Difficult to see future it is!

Hope is not needed, its just time. 90% of the studios and CE companys support blu-ray. You just need the 1 studio (TotalHD anyone?) and thats it. At that point, owning a hd-dvd player is as useful as tits on a bull.

It's only temporary in that future discs can be made to not work with the hacked/crappy player that's showing the keys. Every disc currently out and those coming out in the near future (both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD) can forever be ripped and distibuted since their keys are known (tons of them are already available on torrents.) And the odds of more players exposing the keys in the future seems pretty high; no matter what the movie industry does there will always be someone out there to hack/crack their attepmts.

Of course Blu-Ray has additional security measures but BD-ROM mark only prevents mass stamping of discs (which is what they really need to be worried about) and I'm not sure how effective BD+ will be if AACS can be bypassed (since it is also a reactionary security system.)

I suppose you guys bring up some good points. Looks like most of the titles I'm currently interested in are from Universal so I guess that's the problem. Also, regarding Warner, I notice several of their BD titles that are also offered on HD DVD do not inlucude a Dolby TRUEHD or DTS HD track on the BD version. That's something else I don't get. I feel like Bluray get's the shaft a little from Warner with regard to audio format and delayed title releases vs HD DVD. Hopefully this will all catch up soon.
