Question 7.1 sound on 5.1 track??????

In the audio section of the Anger Management blu-ray review on this site it says "the music effortlessly flows into the **rear channels**" even though its 5.1 True HD not 7.1.........can someone explain how the author of the review got it to go 7.1 on a 5.1 track?Another example of this is in the NEXT review on this site. Even though this movie is in PCM 5.1 the author quotes, "There is sustained gunfire coming from all directions, always a pop or a string of “bangs” or a ricochet in the **rear channels**."

Well they are 2 Rear Channels ?

Anyway most AVR today can apply PLIIx to any source so you can get 7.1 out of 5.1 sources...

According To you're manual

You must go to :

SETUP

MANUAL SETUP

OPTION (I) called Extd. Sur.

Choose ON

Decoder Type :

Choose PLXII MOVIE

You're manual doesn't mention if it's compatible also on PCM 5.1... but it does it on DD and DTS. Try it
