well people i have 2 questions to ask.
1st: i currently have comcast cable service plan and i wanted to switch to and HD cable box to take advantage of the better video. well, would the HD cable box come with a hdmi out? or how would you connecti it trough your tv with the same white white rfu wire? 2nd: my second question. since i know have cable i watch tv alot. like around 4-6 hours daily. would all the watching tv time waste the life of my sony bravia tv faster than expected? because a month ago i only turned on my tv to play video games on my ps3. well people if you all can answer my question with good logic, i appreciate it. thanx |

Nice one salesman............. Yes it has an HDMI out. You just connect an HDMI cord from the box to the tv and you get HD cable. As far as lessing the life of your tv, a tv is just like a car, you can not drive it and it will last a lot longer, but then you are not really getting any value out of it.

I have Comcast HD. its ok, some are good some are bad. i dont have the newer boxes with HDMI but theres not real purpose to have HDMI for cable IMO. The worst ive seen for HD is Charter, my brother just got it, looks horrible and only gets like 10 hd channels, and NO HD DISCOVERY!

In my area the comcast boxes that have DVR (8300HD) have HDMI out with a catch. The digital audio can only go to the HDMI OR the digital out on the box, It will not go to both at the same time.
I suggest to my customers to connect Component Video and analog audio to the TV and run Digital audio to the receiver. Comcast has improved their picture recently by switching to an all digital signal (again in the Sarasota Fl area). The HD boxes without the DVR do not have a HDMI output. Im sure there are some things that may differ in parts of the country. And as far as using your TV more.... Use it, enjoy it, you will most likely convince yourself you need a new TV before its life is actually over... ![]() |

I have Comcast and I get audio from both HDMI & Optical at the same time.
I really don't think any company is on top of their game and they all could improve the service. You can always try Comcast on one of their specials and if you don't like it cancel it. OTA HD is going to be better than any service provider. |
