I read overwhelmingly negative reviews of this movie.
But, I'll rent it.

It was pretty crappy, Damon. It differs wildly from the book, which in and of itself wasn't a terribly imaginative read. But, if the film had been more closely adapted, it would have been loads better.

The effects on Saphira were quite nice, and probably the only redeeming factor of the film. It'd be great to examine her in all her detailed scaly Blu glory!! :P

No doubt it bombed at the box office but more importantly this a day and date release. Apparently Night at the Museum will be also. Kudos to Fox.

i found the movie to be terrible, but i think it because the butchered the book beyond recognition. I dont know how they are going to make the rest of the trilogy of movies when this one was so bad...!!!

I love this movie! I am baffled by all the bad reviews this movie got. Okay the acting is maybe not the bestm but it is certainly not the worst and i thought the conversion to Blu was pretty awesome! Does anyone else here like this film? I hope they make a sequel!

I took my sons to see it. I thought it was pretty good. The special effects were very good. The story was OK. It looked to be set up for a part 2. I doubt we'll see it.

I wouldn't buy it on BD.

I liked it.

I think it could have been much better - they had 100 million to spend!

That said, my 2 sons just love Eragon and we bought it on DVD last year. Eventually we'll replace with the BD.

The books were great. Eragon and Eldest. The Third still hasnt been made.

The movies isnt terrible if you havent read the books. The movie was just so mediocre. They changed a lot from the books. It was also only an hour and a half. you rarely have decent book to movie translations in that amount of time.

Default Eragon needs a new release

I know that many don't like this movie. But for those that do, like me, I think this needs a proper BD50 release with some actual special features. A nice remaster with the AVC codec would also be nice. It may not be the most successful domestically, according to Boxofficemojo, but worldwide it could be considered a moderate success. I'd say a good re-release would do it alright.

Never gonna happen. Not enough money to be had with a rerelease. Personally I'd rather see a sequel to Eragon than a rerelease, just IMO.
