Default Fed up with Walmart!

Okay, some months back Wal-Mart made a statement something to the effect that they would be a "Blu-ray" headquarters starting in June. While I am not contesting they are doing good with (some) new releases they’re doing a crapy job on catalog titles. I can get them online but not at the store. I was excited when they first announced this, as I was hopeful this would bring down the prices of BDs to a reasonable level (I will pay up to $20 for BDs, some a little less, and even fewer a little more) but there prices are no different in almost every case from the other brick and mortar stores. I have been doing most of my buying via Amazon, and eBay, when I can find a good price, but I WANT IT NOW, not in a few days...Anyway this is my rant feel free to agree/disagree.

Not sure where you live but here either one of our Wal-Marts has around 150+ Blurays on display at any given time.

Add in the fact you can take it home immediately and its still cheaper than shopping at an "electronics superstore" I don't really mind.

WOW, the 2 near me each have between 20 - 45 at any given time, sad.

We have 2 targets in the area, but the only place that is more expensive then them is Circuit City, and FYEs. I will not pay targets prices, just too high, even Best Buy is cheaper than them. What I do not understand, the real point of my rant, is why doesn't Wal-Mart get the catalog titles, only new releases, and then only major titles. I guess I could have made this post about the prices in general, but Wal-Mart made a point to say they would be the Blu-ray headquarters, and so far no good.

so if your fed up, dont shop there. I dont understand the point of being fed up and checking there. Go somewhere else, or order from a cheaper place like amazon.

The point is, it is a rant, Walmart said they would be the BD headquarters by June 1, and have yet to do anything more than they were doing before. I do go elsewhere, but i have no rant aganst them at this time. I was/am just blowing steam.

That is pretty much the same set up the walmart I go to has. "New Releases" on the left of the players, and older ones on the right. They range from I want to say 19.96 up to 29.96. The bottom price might be a bit lower, but don't remember seeing any 14.96 or so.

I haven't shopped in Wal-Mart since long before Blu-ray was a glint in Sony's eye.
