The March 2007 Perfect Vision magazine has a special 7 page BLU-RAY Rising feature article. It starts on page 26 and ends on page 32. The article talks about how the quality of movies and players keeps improving compared to summer of 2006 when the format had issues when it first launched. The article has a good review of the Panasonic DMP-BD10, Pioneer Elite BDP-HD1, and Samsung BD-P1000 with updated firmware. All 3 players in general overall had good reviews with plusses and minuses for all 3. They really liked the Pioneer picture quality better then the Panasonic. Due to the 1080P/24 output on the Pioneer when connected to a 1080P/24 display the Pioneer had smoother motion and camera pans. When reviewing the Pioneer they went into detail about the advantages of 1080P/24 and how the local movie cinema repeats each 24fps two or three times. The Pioneer BLU-RAY player is only $200 more then the Panasonic.

I knew Blu-Ray would be winning despite the horrible launch reviews, too much studio support and things get better with time as well as PS3 having a blu-ray player built in..not to turn this into a PS3 thread, but PS3 will win, just give it some time. I'll have to check out that article though.

The Pioneer Elite Gen1 player is waste of money.
![]() Higher than USD$1000 BUT NO HDMI 1.3 or even upgradeable firmware option? Screw that player. You'd be better off with a Panasonic DMP-BD10 or a PS3!!! |

I sure hope the PS3 gets an update to do 1080p, 24fps. Because my Bravia XBR3 has some stuttering when cameras are panning or people are walking across a still shot. I know LCDs are kinda known for that, but I think its something to do with the framerate of the player too, so I hope the PS3 gets a 24fps update for blu-ray.
