Best way to clean your TV's outter bezel? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys,

This has been bugging me for a while, I'm not sure what would be the safest way to clean the gloss black bezel that's around my Samsung TV. For the longest time i have just been using water and a microfiber clothe but it never looks perfect.

Are there any cleaning products that won't hurt the black gloss finish? Or is water the best way of doing it?

I've been using the microfiber cloth that came with my samsung,but it leaves scratches all over my bezel. i thought the reason for microfiber was to prevent that?

i noticed that too whats up with that? i think it's because the bezel on samsung tv's are just prone to scratches because of their glossy coating. thats what a tech said that came out to my house when i asked him about it.

problems with microfiber is that it collects everything. thats why when i clean my screen bezel i have one dedicated microfiber for the job. and one for the screen. both kept away in its own ziploc, to avoid gathering more dust to 'scratch' the bezel/screen

no matter what kind of towel you use, dust will scratch. so you have to use a clean cloth every time.

For my tv, its also tells you to go in a counter-clockwise motion around. Check your manual and you will see what im talking about.

Just be careful. A few months ago there was a story from a new Pioneer Kuro owner. He purchased from Best Buy (Why...I don't know...cost him an extra $1,500). They installed the panel and then used the Monster screen cleaner on it before he could stop them. They ruined the anti-glare coating on the outside of the screen.

HAHA Yea and extra $1,500 is right....and I hope they replaced it for him free of charge. I'd be raising all kinds of hell.

Dont use any chemicals. Just use water and the micro cloth it came with...
