Does Disney UK releases have DTS-HD? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi

I have just brought The Wild and Scary Movie 4 and they claim to have the DTS-HD simble on the back of the cases but the audio info just says DTS 5.1 + PCM+ DD5.1 which does it have. I cant find out until 23/03/07 as I am waiting to get my PS3.

Right now I think Disney is pretty heavy into uncompressed PCM audio. That MAY change when receivers start showing up this summer/fall with the two lossless codecs DTS MA and Dolby TrueHD included.

With the one exception of the Disney film "Dinosaur", Disney/Buena Vista is Hell-bent obsessed with NOT providing us DTS in ANY form. The same can be said for Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. and Universal.
I would not expect to see DTS-encoded Disney/ BV Blu discs for a LONG time to come.

All of the UK Disney releases appear to have DTS tracks on them that aren't present on their US counterparts. The logo on the back of the box is the DTS HD Master Audio one, but the text just mentions DTS (although according to my PS3 they are 1.5 mbps tracks). I don't believe any are English audio tracks (they are still PCM), they are just for the German, Spanish and French tracks.
