Default Daylight Saving Time - calendar guide for 2008 - 2015

Daylight saving time in the U.S. is this Sunday, November 2. We get to sleep one extra hour or we should watch another blu-ray movie.

I made this DST calender. You can right click on it and download it to your computer or print it.

It means nothing to me in AZ, except all shows on TV are screwed up and football starts an hour later for me on Sunday!

I just wish we could keep the time the same... Let it get dark earlier!

I always do my best fishing at night, so the more the merrier! Also, I prefer driving in the dark... People on Long Island seem to drive better at night... Too many idiots during rush hour on the Long Island Expressway during daylight hours.

DST happened last week over here in Europe.
Funny that it is called DST considering that the hours of light have no connection in their length with the changing of the hour. What you may save in the morning you use up in the evening especially in December when darkness strikes at 5 pm.

Nice list you made! I hate it when the time changes, it always messes up my bodies internal clock. . It is going to get dark at like 5 pm now too.

And here I thought the US was the only country that did this. Also, has anyone else found that the timing this past spring & this fall is off by a week? That is, some devices (like my time clock at work) changed this past weekend already.

I guess you missed a while back about the U.S. changing the time frame for DST.

I wish they would do away with DST. I think the US is the only place that still does this. It's annoying. We're not farmers anymore.

My country dropped DST about 30 years ago.
I was 7 years old and got puzzled when my teacher tried to explain DST.

No DST in Hawaii as well.
The main thing that sucks is that the time difference to Germany is now 11 hours instead of twelve... meaning my parents will keep me up an hour longer when they call. lol

Every country should just get rid of it already!

The shifting of the dates last year was due to an amendment included in the Energy Policy Act of 2005. It's basically an experiment by the government trying to be more "green"--this is also the overall intent of DST.

Quote:
SEC. 110. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS.

(a) Amendment.--Section 3(a) of the Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S.C. 260a(a)) is amended--
(1) by striking ``first Sunday of April'' and inserting ``second Sunday of March''; and
(2) by striking ``last Sunday of October'' and inserting ``first Sunday of November''.
(b) Effective Date.--Subsection (a) <<NOTE: 15 USC 260a note.>> shall take effect 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act or March 1, 2007, whichever is later.

(c) Report to Congress.--Not <<NOTE: 15 USC 260a note.>> later than 9 months after the effective date stated in subsection (b), the Secretary [of Energy] shall report to Congress on the impact of this section on energy consumption in the United States.

(d) Right to Revert.--Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedules once the Department study is complete.
