Default UK releases that don't exist.. why?

There are a number of Blu-Rays that only exist in the US, and have not come to the UK. I've been waiting months for them, but still nothing.

Battle of the Bulge
Fifth Element (Remastered)
Payback: Straight Up
Patton
L.A Confidential
Superman II: Richard Donner Cut
Mongol: Rise of Genghis Kahn

Why do these titles have NO release date in the UK, why are they months and months behind the US? Is my only choice to import?

well la confidential has a release date 09/03/09 @ play.com

i agree i am still waiting on Mrs doubtfire to be released in the uk this problem
is not doing blu-ray any favors at all here in the uk i am hopeful for a better year next year

i also hate to import this has more to do with studios than suppliers its horrible.
studios need to get there act together. or this format that we all love will be in trouble if there is not enough variety of films to choose from on the new format
new customers will hesitate to switch

There still no sign of a release for Young Frankenstein in the UK.

L.A. Confidential is expected 19. november in Holland, so it can't take that long to be released in the UK.

Thanks for the replies, I just wish a website would do some sort of investigation into it, and ask studios why there is a rediculas lag or even non-takeup of some titles which are already pressed for the US.
