Does this song make anyone else kinda sad that times like this are long gone and no longer exist anymore? Anyone have experiences like this or wish they did?

Ultimately the main portion of the song is Don McLean's reaction to the deaths, in a plane crash, of Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper in February 1959.
