Not a fan of horns, I would go Polk.

That said, you should probably try to audition in store and see what you like.

I own the Monitor 50s and Monitor 30s, both are great sets of speakers and I am very happy with them. I have never heard that line of Klipsch speakers though.

My first suggestion would be to not buy your gear at Circuit City, unless yours is one of the 155 stores closing and you get a killer deal.

My next suggestion would be to find a true hi-fi audio store somewhere in your area. Spend some time there auditioning various gear to see what sort of gear sounds good to you. You won't be able to figure it out at Circuit City or most big box retailers. They just don't have the proper setups for auditioning gear.

What you like is subjective. I'd prefer Polk Monitor 60's and the CS2.

he's saying and I agree, that you should if you can go and listen to both. This way you can tell which is better for you. They are both good. Only you can say which one is better. In other words, they're in the same class. It's not like you're comparing Polk 60's and B&W 683's.

you should just expand on your existing thread.

the sub choice is totally up to you. you don't need a matching sub. the main thing is what is your budget?

I would look into an eD A2-300 for a sub. SVS, HSU, etc. have some nice options in that price range as well.

As far as a receiver, there are a few options. I would say, Onkyo 605/606, Onkyo 705/706, Onkyo 805/806, Yamaha V663, Sony 820, and the Sony 920 are good places to start.

Edit: If you do not plan on bitstreaming, Marantz has some very nice options in receivers as well.

Agreed. Especially the eD subwoofer - best deal in town currently!

To the OP: As far as Klipsch vs Polk - You need to carry some of your own material and listen yourself and decide. I listened to some Polk TSI 400'S vs Klipsch Icon W-34's....The Polks cleaned house...with my type of music. On movies however - I gave the edge to the Icons. I own Klipsch Heritage series speakers - There are others that I like better and are better - it all depends on you - You will have to live with them
