Default Transformers Extended Edition In 2009?

From The Digital Bits..

From Paramount, we're hearing that a Transformers: Extended Edition is planned for DVD and Blu-ray release in 2009, likely timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Bay's sequel film next summer

I liked Transformers but it was nothing that special I didn't think and the theatrical cut I thought was too long. I probably won't buy it but I will most likely rent it.

I thought the theatrical cut had too many holes in it. If the extended cut fills these holes that would be great :

1) How does Optimus Prime know about the pole expedition and the glasses if he just arrived on Earth?
2) How does a car showroom sell a car it has no paperwork for?
3) Why take the cube to a city and invite more bad robots to a busy area?

As for bits which were pointless. There were many of them. Too many to list. The robot scene in AF1 was just stupid. Plus, it seems there are blind people in this movie, how can anyone not see it escape from AF1 in front of 50 people?

I try to ignore the plot holes and subpar acting and just enjoy the action scenes.

1) Didn't he find out on the internet?
2) huh? which part are you talking about?
3)Dont know, but you have to remember this is just a movie. would a dead area have as much action as a city? i dont think robots fighting in the desert or in the mountains would have much action. people screaming, and buildings crashing, thats what people want to see.

Don't think too much about it, it's just a stupid entertaining movie.
It is after all a Michael Bay movie.
And I bet that The Island got more stupid holes in it and still it sucked.

:Sigh: How much footage can they add onto this movie anyways!? It's another ploy to get us to buy it again. I really hate to double dip as I have never double dip before. Why couldn't they've release this in the first place. Dam these greedy,money-grabbing bastard. They're making me curious about this cut.

Why do they do this? To suck every cent from us?

It's this kind of stuff that makes me just want to rent from Red Box for a buck, and stop buying movies all together.

The timing in the movie is pitch perfect. There is no way I'm double dipping this.

LOL...Maybe they offer the extra scenes as a BD live download to be seamlessly streamed into the movie...but I won't hold my breath...
