Default Which Movie Will be Number One This Weekend? Twilight? Bolt?

Which movie will be number one at the box office this weekend? We've got Twilight and Bolt opening plus Quantum of Solace will be in it's second week.

Twilight (according to Fandango) has sold out of 500 midnight screenings and is adding more screenings. They say that Twilight is now accounting for 86% of advance tickets being sold.

Can Bolt upset Twilight? Will Q of S have a chance? What do you think? How much do you think they'll do?

As much as I love Miley/Bolt looks kick ass, the tween/teen audience is definetly watching Twilight. I am too (guess I'm a teen, 18).

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. The wife really wants to go see this one, so I'll be dragged out to go see it.

I'm not too sure either why its so popular as at first I thought the trailer was for a car commerical.

Disney + Pixar = #1 Sorry to all the teenie boppers out there. I would be in total shock if Twilight was actually #1.

In fact, I think I'll do my part to help and go see Bolt 12 times...LOL

Bolt isn't Pixar. Nor do I think it's half as hyped as Twilight... we'll see.

It's still Disney and I guess the hype depends on how old you are.

Hmm... I hope it's a big hit because it probably deserves it more than Twilight.

Well I would have to go out on a limb and say twilight.

Based on the fact that every female I talk to on a regular basis, my wife included, loved the books....making it, in my opinion a chick flick.

Guys we all know the power of the P, so for every female going to see it this weekend, there will be a helpless guy with her.....

I'm gonna go with Twilight for sure. Haven't seen much marketing at all for Bolt. Plus Twilight is not just going to be a teeny movie, as the poster above me pointed out, many grown women like the books too. My ex is a very intellectual reader, and she told me how surprised she was that she totally loves the books.

Yes, many grown women do like the books. But how often is a movie completely faithful to a book???
While we will have to wait and see about the movie, the trailers appear to be almost entirely made to appeal to the teeny movie audience (including the pretty-boy actors).

That's a good point...just thinking there might be quite a few women who would want to see it on opening weekend, since the books are so popular.

I completely agree. I think it will do really well opening weekend, but then wont do as well later on once word gets out that it doesn't do the book justice.

With all the hype that Twilight as been receiving I would be very surprise if it doesn't do some damage at the box office.

i'd have to vote for Twilight b/c of all of the book fans waiting for it. i'd be willing to say somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-50 mil. this weekend. bolt will probably do 20-25 mil i'd say.
