Default Speaker wire question

Hello all,

I just purchased Polk Rm6750 speakers to go along with a Sony Strdg820 and have a few questions.

What size wire would be best to use? (12, 14)?
Besides the HDMI cable are there any other cables i'll need?

thanks much for the help.

You can use either 14 or 12 gauge speaker wires. However, go with 12 gauge. The difference in price is very little. You can go longer with 12 gauge wires and 12 gauge wires are better for low impedance speakers.
Read A Guide to Optical, Coaxial, & Speaker Cables. It has a table that you can use as a guide.

You need at least 2 HDMI cables. One to connect the BD player to the receiver and another to connect the receiver to the TV. You also need a subwoofer cable to connect the receiver to a powered subwoofer. Buy a Subwoofer cable that is shielded properly. Monoprice.com is the best source for reasonably priced cables.

If you do go with 12 gauge, I'd recommend to get some plugs for them. 14 gauge honestly is a little tough to fit into the speaker terminals as it is.

An example of them is here: http://www.amazon.com/Audioquest-UST...8099464&sr=1-9 though I wouldn't actually recommend that exact item.
