Default Is Saw V worth a blind-buy?

I haven't seen this movie but I enjoyed the previous films quite a bit. I've heard mixed things though, mostly bad

what do you guys think? oh, and sorry if this thread is misplaced, didn't know where else to post it

skip it. yes it was bad ... although I in some way thought it was better than the 4th which is not a good thing either.

rent it, if you must.

I loved it. They did a really good job of explaing the previous 4 movies. Best of the series? No, but not the worst either.

i'm gonna grab it and add it to my standard dvd collection. this doesn't warrant a high enough need on bluray for me although i do enjoy the previous 4.

I'll buy it on SDDvd just because I have all the others on SD. Dont shame me too much. It will be awhile before I buy them all on Blu.
why not buy the BD and save the money on the DVD?

The thing about the Saw films that I do like....is that they aren't mindless like most other horror films out there....they are smart. You are actually curious as to how things were done...you are looking for explainations throughout these films. You want to know how every character is involved in the story and how they tie into the others.

If these films were as bad as everyone loves to say.....people wouldn't be buying tickets...they wouldn't be on part V and working on part VI already. And people wouldn't be able to have an opinion if they weren't curious enough to watch each film to begin with.

Get part V and keep the story together in your Blu library....FTW, everyone wants to be a critic. The truth is most of the viewers saying it sucks aren't smart enough to write a truly smart horror script themselves, let alone stretch it out over 6 films. Gather your own opinion when the last film in the story is made. I also find it amusing that " the majority " of those that dog them....own at least one or two, if not all of them so far.

The Saw films are not my personal favorite btw...but I do have to give credit where credit is due and not just dog Saw sequels like most do. The scripts along with the gory traps in these films are indeed intelligent. You can't " honestly " tell me while watching these films that you aren't captivated by each trap and what will happen. I have yet to see anyone...I repeat...anyone...get up and leave the theater to go to the bathroom whenever a trap is visible on the screen. Truth hurts...but asses are in the seats.
Seriously, the Saw Franchise is embarrassing to the horror genre.
And you must have obviously not seen Saw 4 or Saw 5.

seeing as I have the first 4 and like the series as a whole , I will be pre-ordering saw 5 as I never saw it in theaters as I don't go to theaters with ticket prices the way they are.

I can see some mixed opinions on this one. As it comes to cinemas here in a week or two, I will go see it and forge an opinion.

Skip it.

I count myself as a die-hard Saw fan, and while with Saw 4 (despite its flaws) its probably the best quality blu-ray (in terms of the sound and picture quality) of the Saw lot no amount of blu-ray extras can make up for the fact that Saw 5 was the crappiest of the sequels.

The twist ending is lame, the movie is 85% flashbacks (most ripping off of Amanda's flashbacks from Saw 3) and the traps are the worst of all five films (explain to me how breaking glass jars with a pole is a dangerous game, please..).

The only people who are defending it are doing so only because they think that Saw 4 is worst, and not because they think Saw 5 is actually good next to the first three.
