PS3 Screenshots

Someone said the ps3 can do screenshots of Bluray movies. Is that true?

And if it is how do I do it =].

Its not true. It is supported in the firmware for games only, however no game has been released to my knowledge that allows it.

I wish this function was not so limited. I was hoping one could do screenshots of anything on the TV screen as long as it is something displayed by the PS3. Like the XMB, games, movies, my wallpaper, my XMB theme and so on.

Wipeout HD lets you take in game screen shots.... i only know cause there's some in our photo albums on the ps3... be cool feature if it worked for blurays to

As does Motorstorm 2 and flOw (random for flOw). I think Resistance allows it as well but iirc, it's only for online play. Edit: I might have been thinking of MGS4 instead of Resistance. Here is the PS3 thread on screenshots:

That would be pretty cool, there are a few scenes in some of the BD I own that would make cool wallpapers.
