Default Are you into Concert BD's?

I love concert BD's and have amassed a nice little collection in the last year or so. I thought I would share it with you, as I've seen an increase in posts about this type of BD entertainment. As such, I'm surmizing that this is due to experiencing another dimension from our HT set-ups. And why not! Concert BD's are can be played even while you're cooking dinner or entertaining some guests. You don't need to be glued to the set to enjoy them as the audio experience is the primary reason for buying them (at least in my opinion).

So here is my list of concert BD's.

The only one I have so far is The Police: Certifiable.
Would like to get Tony Bennett, John Mayer and Dave Matthews in the near future. Wish Norah Jones, Dianna Krall and Michael Buble would release concerts on Blu-ray also.

I wouldn't mind getting all the AC/DC, Ozzy, Sammy Hagar, Metallica, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, and whole bunch of other ones. Even though some of these are already on blu but would like more.

I just picked up the Foo Fighters: Live at Wembley yesterday. WOW! I never knew what I was missing before. I'm gonna be picking up more of them for sure. My next one will be AC/DC- No Bull, and maybe Led Zepplin's the Song Remains the Same.

I would add "Shakira: Oral Fixation Tour" even if you are like me and do not understand Spanish. Great concert with reference PQ & AQ.

"Celine Dion: Live in Las Vegas" is another reference level Blu-ray. It is worth it just for the 2-hour real time, behind the stage, extra.

I have:

Foo Fighters

Elton at 60
Abbey Road: Best of Season 1
Sheryl Crow

The Who is on my radar for a purchase soon, as is the NIN disc. The wife wants the Tori Amos disc, so plenty more coming!

At this point I only have 2 Live Concert BD. They are: The Moody Blues: Lovely To See You LIVE (which I have yet to watch) and Yes: Live at Monteux 2003. I like the Yes BD very much, but they are my favorite band.

Rush "Snakes and Arrows" is kick ass!

The Who at Kilburn is great also (PQ and AQ are just ok...but the show is worth it)

I got a few through netflix this week.

I wasn't a big fan of Dave Matthews eventhough it's a great blu, I just thought it was boring.

Korn's blu wasn't bad.

But Rush's Snakes and Arrows blu-ray was unbelievable. I would rank it as one of the best bds I've seen and one of the better live shows. Neil Peart's drum solo is worth the $20 price of the blu!

Ive seen many of them thanks to netflix, but easily the best looking one out there is the Rush one that just came out. In fact it looks better than every other BD I own. The PQ is ridiculous.

The Police BR looks considerably better than the Rush IMO, and not only that the recording/mix on the Police BR is night and day better. The Rush show is dissapointing from a recording/mix standpoint as it is a VERY ambient heavy recording/mix with very little direct sound. Obviously this was what they were going for to try and capture being at the venue and part of the audience, but I MUCH prefer a audio presentation that is as pristine as possible as the music is my main focus, not trying to recreate being at the show or on stage with what the band hears. Throw on the Rush disc, then throw on John Mayer, the Police, Dave and Tim, Jewel to name a few and the recording/mix dif is night and day.

Im just talking about PQ. The Police does not look as good as the Rush one to me. Definitely not. Sound though I wouldnt argue with you at all.
