Prince Caspian Audio Problem

Just watched Prince Caspian and experienced some strange audio issues. Most noticible was the dialog volume was extremely low in comparison to the rest of the sound track and I seemed to be getting some clipping going on with the surround. Sounded almost like a skipping record. All the indicators on my receiver appear correctly (7.1 DTS, etc.) but the sound wasn't "right." Haven't experienced this with my other discs. Anyone got any ideas what the problem might be or could it be I've got a defective disc?

Is it kind of like that problem? I am not sure about the center channel issue though, are you using an SPL meter and setting the speakers to the proper levels?

Similar issue as the thread you listed. I'm going to try to recalibrate my audio and see what happens.

Onkyo SR605 and PS3. No issues.

Pioneer Receiver VSX-LX50 and Ps3 no problem either.

PS3 and Sony 820, centre channel was kinda low... it was the first movie I watched with DRC turned off... maybe this has something to do with it

Did this fix your problem? I encountered the same problem with this disc. I found that switching the HDMI Audio output on my BDP-05FD player to "PCM" from "auto" was what fixed it for me. Seems that it might be a problem with the VSX-94TXH decoder.

There is a firmware update available for the 91TXH apparently as the following response from Pioneer indicates:
