Thumbs up Prince Caspian

if you haven't seen it yet, aside from a few flaws, its an awesome movie. i was surprised. basically snow white meets gladiator meets two towers. (if you can imagine that). i thoroughly enjoyed it as did everyone in our group of 8. the night before, i watched the Lion Witch & the Wardrobe on blu and it didn't do much for me. i *liked* it...but it left me wishing it was better. but Caspian was epic. i mention it here because no doubt we will see its Blu release this year and this, in my opinion, is a must own title. i know indy is at the box office as is iron man...but caspian is right there with 'em. and i dare say that it is better than the newest jones. but thats just my opinion

I'm gonna go see it this week. It really looks good; better than the first.

I like both, but I still think the first was better. The second definitely had a lot more action and was more violent.

Same here. I liked both for different reasons: Lion for its mystic tone and Prince Caspian for its darker edge and greater amount of action. I still rate Lion higher though, mainly because
[Show spoiler]I was disappointed by the deus ex machina at the end of Caspian
. Nonetheless, I can't wait to get it on Blu - the epic battles are going to look spectacular. Plus I still think Tilda Swinton is one hot, sexy witch.

It never "meets" two towers, it does a lame job imitating it maybe. I didn't hate the movie, actually it was pretty good. But it is a childrens movie from beginning to end so it accomplishes what its set out to accomplish. Lion witch and the wardrobe, however, surpasses this one in all aspects although the childrens acting has improved pretty drastically.

This movie may be epic for a 12 year old but for me ( I enjoy my share of "kiddie" movies at 20) this was a little on the down side. Definitely will not be picking this nor the first on blu.

Loved Prince Caspian. I was hoping it would do a little better than it has to insure the rest of the books adaptations. I guess a lot depends on how it hangs on and it's worldwide interest.

If the trailer for 'Prince Caspian' on the recent 'Enchanted' and 'Narnia' BDs is any indication, the BD should look just awesome. The trailer itself is demo material!

I really enjoyed the movie, and I am confident that the rest of the books will be adapted to the big screen. The movie has been released on a very limited basis overseas, with most of the territories not seeing the film until mid June. The production budget was $200 million, and it should get that on the domestic run. It is all gravy from there on.

I really hope this is better than the first one. I really can't understand how people keep talking about how great it was; as a lover of the books I sorta thought that an adaption would notice that the important storyline was the relationship between the kids and Aslan, and that part is almost completely gutted in the movie first movie.

Sorry, but WTF are some of you talking about?

This movie was AWESOME! Loved it, and also loved the first. I can't decide which I like better. I definitely liked it better than the new Indy!

The foreign box office looks very promising. From variety.com:

Disney's "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" led the rest of the weekend pack as it continued generating solid biz early in its foreign run with $18.4 million at 3,360 from 13 markets. Japan -- the only major market without a "Crystal Skull" opening -- led the way with a first-place launch weekend of $7.7 million at 320 as it topped the combined grosses of the next four films.

"Caspian," which will expand gradually offshore over the next two months, has already cumed $49 million internationally with grosses 15% ahead of the original "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" in the same territories -- an early signal the sequel will be a foreign powerhouse, since the original topped $450 million overseas.
