My BIC America Story - Blu-ray Forum

Just wanted to let everyone know about my BIC America experience.

About 8 years ago, while I was setting up my 5.1 surround system, I purchased a BIC America D1210-R 200 watt powered subwoofer (12" down-firing). This thing shook the house

I've since upgraded to blu-ray and expanded to 7.1 - still using the BIC sub. About two weeks ago, the sub went dead. It had a 2 year warranty but I was way beyond that- so I pulled the amp out of the cabinet to have a look. Sure enough, something burned up-there was a big black spot on the PCB.

I called BIC to request or buy a schematic so I could take a shot at repairing it. They told me they cannot give out the schematic but send the amp in and they would look at it.

Well they repaired the amp (actually replaced the PCB) and sent it back to me yesterday -free of charge.

That's customer service.

I would recommend BIC to anyone on this forum looking for a decent subwoofer at affordable prices- and they back there stuff up.

thanks for sharing that story with us. it's always comforting to hear good customer services still exists.

that's remarkable that BIC repaired, or sent you a new amp, free of charge.

i was this close to purchasing one for my condo over the summer, and spent quite some time with the Las Vegas dealer in figuring out how much he's charge me for shipping that monster. in the end, i decided against it, since i'm in a condo, and in fear of getting evicted.

well strongly consider them down the road though, given your story here.

Thats awesome that they did that for you, very rarely do you hear of positive customer service experiences like this. I was looking into their subwoofers recently, maybe i'll have to take another peek.

wow, that's a great story! wish more companies would do things like this for their loyal supporters

I was surprised also. I really was just looking for a service manual or schematic- last thing I wanted to do was buy a new sub. They even paid for shipping the amp back to me!

I'll be looking at their speakers for fronts when the time comes.

I just got a B.I.C. America F12 sub, and I could not be any happier with it. Truly impressed with the build quality and performance. Just thought I would share. B.I.C. makes some great products.
