Last night my AC/heater unit started blowing cold air when the heat was supposed to be on, which actually droped the temp in the house. I don't think the motor is running when the heat is on, so I think all the rain we have gotten recently has shorted the motor. I just had the motor replaced 6 months ago. Why would a new motor do this?

Huh? If it's blowing the motor should be turning. The furnace lights a pilot then the blower kicks on. Sometimes the flame will go out but the blower will stay on, blowing cold air.
There is a flame sensor associated with the furnace. If you remove and clean it with some sandpaper, it may fix everything. It'll be a metal rod looking thing right near the front but pointing into where the flame would be. |
