Default CRYSIS PS3-bound?

It looks like it, GameSwank with the news:

Quote:
Looks like the Crysis to PS3 rumor has gained some considerable leverage as Crytek is now looking to hire additional PS3 programmers:

Responsibility:
  • Development of a Next-Generation GameFramework based on CryEngine 2.0
  • Work on various aspects of porting to PS3 and creating solutions to get the utmost out of the PS3
  • Cross platform code development
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Complete all tasks in a timely manner and to a consistent high quality standard

If EA let them! They're not exactly well-known for releasing finished, polished products.

This is good to hear. I will be very interested in what Crytek and EA produced for the PS3.

Crysis is by EA right?

If so, then this game is also going to end up on Flopbox 360 right?

Oh well, might as well stick with the PC version (since I don't like FPS games on consoles)

Chances are they are looking for people to port their engine over to the PS3 so they can easily license it as it is a very impressive engine. If they can sell an optimized PS3 version to developers, it will allow them to make really impressive games much quicker than they can now.

Time will tell to see if they actually make the game for PS3 or if it will stay in the PC realm.

Whether it's Crytech that do the game porting or not, EA will make it happen.

If it is EA, which it looks like, and they are porting it to the PS3, they will also go to 360.

EA is all about profit, they could care less what platform can do what, they want to sell out and get that game on as many platforms as possible. Makes sense to port to PS3 first and downgrade to 360.. as developer said before everyone will build multi-platform games for PS3 and port them over to 360 since it is easier to go that way..

Default It seems great

I think it'll only be out for the PC. It does look amazing, I pre-ordered it already.

Just be sure to have an 8600GT or better, and you'll do fine. If you need to upgrade your video card take a look at the Fata1ty 8600 or 8800 video cards, they seem great for an ok price.

Also, make sure you have at least 2GB of memory as well. This game in all its glory will be a memory hog. I think it will give BioShock a run for "Game of the Year".

I wouldn't snap to that judgement so quickly. Remember FarCry? that was their previous PC title. It was stunning when it came out, but the game was boring.
