Yep, it sure looks promising. It's a Miramax film in the US so it should come to blu-ray. I just thought it might be soon, since the European HD-DVD is already in the stores.

Amazon has a link, but apparently it is not available. At least there is a raving review on the movie:

Plus there is an HD trailer here:

Apparently, Best Buy got an exclusive on this (for a while), as I just bought it there today for $5.99. No French, just English 5.1 Dolby Digital, DTS, and 2.0 stereo. Also a making of feature. Echo Bridge put it out for Miramax.

Whaaaaaaa? Gotta get to Best Buy I guess!

You know, I'm not sure I mind it not having French track. Because I tried listening to it in French, but the lip sync was all wrong? I guess it was animated in English, even being a French movie? EDIT2: Oh wait. I got this question answered 2 years ago. Literally two posts up from here.

EDIT: Apparently there is a double pack with Equilibrium as well? Has anyone seen this anywhere?

I found it in a bin with other low-ball stuff, like direct to SyFy films.

Can anyone confirm the aspect ratio...

Original is 2.35:1 and the original Canadian Alliance disc has this AR.

The double feature from EB lists a 1.78:1 AR so I'm wondering if the single release fixes that.

Have not opened it up yet, but the back lists 2.35:1.

The double feature with Equilibrium from EB has the correct AR of 2.35:1. The only problem with that release is that even though the back of the case lists English 5.1 DTS, the audio for both films is actually Lossy 5.1 Dolby Digital.

Did anyone else find this today? I looked at one of the BBs near me after work and didn't see it.

The new release has DTS-HD MA in both 5.1 and 2.0.

I picked this up as a double feature with Equilibrium at Walmart. I generally don't care for anime, but this is in a class by itself. It reminded me of the video game Heavy Rain. Film Noire. Stark black and white. The use of color in one instance was masterful. Several scenes with reflected images also impressed me. At $7.88 it is definitely a buy if you can find it.

Just picked this up from Amazon for 5.99$. My wife and I really enjoyed the movie and it looks amazing! The animation is very well done.
