Default Universal remote.

Is there a universal remote that can control everything including the PS3 (my Blu-ray Player) and the 360 (my hd-dvd player) ?

The Harmony 1000. It's a beautiful remote and works perfectly

because the PS3 uses bluetooth and has no IR receiver, afaik there is no universal remote that has bluetooth built in and thus no universal remote that can control the PS3. bluetooth is not listed in the harmony 1000's specs.

so you have 3 choices:
- wait for a bluetooth capable universal remote, by which time it'll no doubt be very expensive
- get an IR dongle for the PS3, which likely means losing some functionality
- settle for 2 remotes, one for PS3 and one for everything else.

Good advice.
I prefer the Harmony ONE as a universal remote.
It fits the hand, does not need a table to set down, and can be bought online for less than $200, no tax free shipping.
Any of the Harmony remotes can be easily programmed by the user, which is a big plus over the overpriced "professional" remotes.

I originally bought the PS3 BT remote, but quickly purchased the IR2BT adapter. The problem I had with the PS3 remote was that there was no backlight which made it very difficult to see in a dark/dim room.

With the IR2BT, I loose no functionality. I have configured certain buttons for certain tasks. I love it and my family loves it.

BTW, everything is controled by my Harmony One.

I wish all my a/v stuff was RF instead of IR. No pointing and everything can be hidden.
