Default Marantz Sr-6003

Marantz as i've been told is a product by the same parent company that produces Denon except Marantz are more geared towards sound for Movies and Music (Denon products towards music)

So just wondering whats everyones opinion on a MARANTZ SR-6003 receiver? as its full HD 1080p compatible etc etc, but your opinion on whether this product is worth buying or not is appreciated.

I would prefer to buy something good and not upgrade for at least a good number of years.

Thanks

Marantz is a great company. If you prefer them, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them. I actually looked at Marantz when I was shopping but the features vs. price swung me towards my Onkyo.

If they're in your budget, I say go for it.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you mean less features and the price is high or do you mean to get all the features on Marantz the price is high compared to other manufacturers?

The price was higher for the Marantz at the time than the deal I got for my Onkyo. I'm not trying to sway you away from Marantz, but just like any purchase, do some comparison shopping of the features (HDMI outputs, surround sound modes, THX, mic autocalibration, watts, etc) to make sure you're getting the best deal. Unless of course you love the sound, in which case just do it.

I had the ONKYO 805 for a while and it had some issues mainly because I bought it refurb from ecost (never do that again!!). While it worked it sounded really good, it was in the repair shop so long i actually ended up getting the Marantz sr-7002 and I will tell you the difference was pretty big compared to the 805. I got it brand new locally and just couldn't be happier with it!! It was not night and day but the sound on the Marantz is much clearer to me and everything works really smooth, also it plays better at lower volumes. From what I have researched, Marantz just builds a very nice amp and their receivers compare to flagship models like denon and yamaha but without alot of the networking and hd features. The only gripe about the 7002 is the on screen menu is a little 80's looking but its does the job. Hope this helps!!!

Well IMOP I am a Marantz fan , the EQ is built like a tank and the sound Quality isAwesome, thay pay attention to the details , as for Music & movies. I had a Marantz / Klipsch system about 9 years ago, this is when Philips Elect. owned them and brought them back to life, ( I work for Philips ) I was lucky to beable to buy the Marantz product through our employee store built a massive system. Had close to $16,000.00 in to it, Well I sold it all when we built a new home ,so i was out of the game for 8 Years, I got big into collecting Highend action figures for awhile , after 6 years of that I sold my whole collection and all I wanted was a small system to enjoy , well got that and Bamm right back into it ,Oh it was a Marantz / klipsch system agian. LOL, anyways this was a nice little system , but i wanted to upgrade in less than a year , this was my idea to make one last reff. system and be done , sit back & enjoy , Well guess what , yep Marantz & Klipsch Agian, I just can't find anything to beat the sound Quality and build And warrnty , and the sound Marantz & Klipsch make together is so unbeliveable,,,as you can see my sigg. all of my EQ, My last peice of EQ. I wanted was the DV-7001 for the SACD & CD music playback , and my wife surprised me yesterday and ordered it for me, It will be here Tuesday can't wait , as for the Marantz SR-7002 this is a awesome Reciever, it puts out the power, with the Klipsch RF-82 floorstand speakers, I just upgraded my speaker cables to Monster ZR2 -reff cables and My ZBass-100 subwoofer cable came in the mail today , WOW the difference in the sound is like unreal , I don't care what pepole say about Monster cable , I like the cables and the build QYT. & there is a difference, trust me , Now I got to buy me the Z-100I RCA interconnects for my SACD player coming , And I'm 99% done , its that 1% thats a killer, almost there..LOL

If you can get the Marantz EQ. go for it , you won't be dissapointed .Throw some Klipsch refference speakers on it and rock you'r world . My 2 cents. hope this helps,,,,,,,,,,,,The Sandman ,,,,,,,,,,
