Default Light Sensor on or off? (SONY KDL40V3000U)

I have heard some people like it with the light sensor on and others with it off. I think animations look better with it off and live action looks better with it on.

I am just asking if there is a perfect balance I could get between the two? Maybe my other settings are all wrong.

Here are my settings, any advice would be fantastic to improve them.

picture mode - cinema
backlight - 4
contrast - 80
brightness - 50
colour - 70
colour temp - warm 2
sharpness - 10
noise reduction - off
MPEG noise reduction - off
black correcter - off
adv. contrast enhancer - off
gamma - off
clear white - off
live coulur - off
colour space - wide

I have the KDL-40XBR4, and I have the light sensor on. I like the balance of the picture quality when I'm viewing at nighttime vs. daytime, but I do have to say that you may have to deal with it occasionally changing during the middle of a scene, notably when the video switches from a bright scene to a dark scene, while you are viewing in a dark room, or at night.

In other words, you may notice that, on occasion, the scene will go a level or two darker about a second after such a transition takes place.

Benefits are improved black level (although my set is good on that area, regardless of the LS setting), and reduced usage of the lamp, along with minor power consumption savings.

I have custom video settings as well, avoiding the use of the pre-programmed ones.

I have it off. Most of my viewing is in the dark or very dim lighting.
