Default PS3's SIXAXIS CONTROLLER: MOTION SENSOR

We all know that the PS3 came with a wireless controller and one of the feature is motion sensing. This thread is to discuss the feature of the Sixaxis Controller's Motion Sensor. Let everyone know about your actual experience of using this feature with the games that you currently play.

I will start with Ridge Racer 7, my favourite online game! On RR7, you can have the option of manual steering and manual gear shift set to motion sensor.

The controller's motion sensor feature does a great job with steering. It is very sensitive and it re-acts well to your movements. It does need alot of practice and mastery to be able to use it against your opponents. On RR7, you have to be able to control your motions smoothly, no sudden movements specially on curves or else you will loose the race! Watch out, your adrenaline may cause you to move suddenly!

Did anyone else try it with RR7? How about other games? Please try the motion sensor feature and share your actual experience!

It works on the MotorStorm demo. I was surprised at the responsiveness.

I personally was more comfortable with the regular controls, but strangely enough, my two brothers, who are not really gamers at all, LOVED the motion controls and were a LOT more comfortable with them than the regular controls.

It works great for Marvel Alliance. However, sometimes when you do the correct movement, it doesn't register at all especially the forward or backward movement. It didn't bother me though. It seems to work best if the controller is level before you start the motion, which is not that comfortable for me. I like to hold it at an angle.

Yeah, I was surprised with how well it responded... however when I used the motorcycle... err. They need to work on that one.

It's great. The Motorstorm controls are REALLY sensitive though. It would be cool if there was a sensitivity control.

With R:FOM it's awesome. Whenever a menial is on you, or even in multiplayer online, shaking the controller to put out the flames or bullseye on you is an awesome feature. It's a great add-on that should never be overlooked and a must have for future generations.

I'm not to crazy about the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I've only tried it in motor storm, but the front part of bike kept going up in the air and i kept killing myself, although some of the deaths were pretty funny

I have one big problem with the controller - it needs a 'zero-out' type feature. When I played the Motostorm demo, my bike kept doing a wheelie - and it's because of how a naturally hold the controller with a slight backward tilt. Since I've been playing with a PS tyep controller since 1997, I doubt I'll change anytime soon.

Anyone else experience this? I found it really difficult to hold the controller flat...

trying to control the bikes with the motion controller is way to difficult. I go with the normal controls unless im driving a larger vehicle.

I know this isn't quite on point, but I thought I would mention it here to hopefully save someone else the hassle of having to return a controller. The Logitech Chillstream controller that is supposed to be for the PS3 doesn't have analog triggers so you can't really use the triggers for your throttle in N4S or RR7 (unless you want to always have it floored).

I took it back before I could test the motion sensing so I'm not sure if it has the capability.

More than three hundred (300) views and only twelve (12) responders? It sounds like the motion sensing feature of the wireless controller is not that popular at this early age of the PS3 and the first releases of all the games!

More games will be released soon including LAIR and hopefully the motion sensing on these games will be easier to control. I believe that second generation games for the PS3 will be even better in terms of performance and motion sensing capability.

This is not the end of this thread and I am sure of that! I just wanted to add notes and maybe game developers, if any, are reading our posts! Feedbacks such as ours may impact and learn directly from end users like everyone in this forum! WELL GO AHEAD, IT'S TIME TO MOCK ME! *PEACE!*

I had madden for Xbox 360 but i sold it and I got madden a while back for ps3. Motion Sensor sucks on this game! I had to turn it off because I don't always hold the controller still and since I didn't, my guys would try to do the jump on the opposing teams snap EVERY TIME making a penalty against my team.

OK, this is driving me nuts. I just popped in R:FoM to play through a second time, and I could swear that the first time I played through it, that it had motion sensor Melee attack, this time however it's Melee is the Triangle button. so the only explanation is that it was another game, so does anyone know what game has this feature....the only other shooters I played around the same time were CoD:3 And Rainbow 6:Vegas...but I could swear it was Resistance. and since Resistance is the only one of these 3 I still have, I can't pop them in and see....anybody know?

Thanks

I know for a fact that CoD3 has a motion control melee attack. I have never played R:FoM so cant say for that game.
