Any opinion on Yamaha subs? - Blu-ray Forum

Was looking at theYamaha YST-SW315 and the YST-FSW150

Haven't seen many threads regarding them and am clinging to spending around $200 for a sub, heh ..

Then again, .. the Polk PSW10 is only 89bucks at the moment.

I'm looking for a starter sub atm but the Polk seems a little less than I'd like, .. who knows.

As Prerich mentioned in another thread, Yammy hasn't really made great speakers for a long time. Polk makes good speakers, but not so hot subwoofers. I'm hopefully getting my PA-120 subwoofer today and will post more on it when I receive it. It was $229 shipped to my door- there are plenty of threads in AVS and also a lot available still on ebay.

Other ones near that price range would be the HSU STF-1, and the Bic H-100.

I wouldn't pay money for a Yamaha sub. Get one from a proper sub manufacturer.

Went with a BIC V-1220 .. price was great at $172 shipped and I've read nothing but nice things about BIC .. we'll see what happens.

Post your thoughts when you get it! We need more budget-conscious choices around here.

Definitely will .. I'll post some pix and such as well once I get all my gear setup.

Nearly all of it's shipping at the moment .. well the Denon, pc350 and V1220.

Can't wait to get it all up and running.
