Default The Eye of Judgment

Does anyone have any opinions about Eye Of Judgement? Its looks like it could be fun, the only thing I am worried about is people printing cards off the internet and using those.

The bardcode may not read right if you just print the card from the internet.

Gamespot have a new hands-on preview and a bunch of new media. I'm Gamespot complete so can download the HD videos and believe me, this game looks very sweet in 720p now. Some of the nicest eye candy I've ever seen.

Just because you can print out the cards, doesn't mean you can copy the software.

Is it barcodes on each card or does each card have a "chip" or something to identify it?

5 Things You *Don’t* Know: THE EYE OF JUDGMENT

$10 more than a regular game isn't bad at all for all that hardware.

A word of caution to anyone who (like me) is considering jumping into The Eye of Judgment for the game itself.

From past experience with Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro CCG products (notably Magic: The Gathering), the "themed" card decks like those featured above that are being sold are always the same pre-set cards, and work about 60-70% as well as a custom built deck.

I would advise against buying the theme decks if you plan on playing online, as people who have actually invested the time, money, and forethought into a more complete card collection will generally hand you your ass on a platter.

some themed decks in MTG were quite good, depending on the rare cards in it

No. They were all mediocre. Some were just "less mediocre" than others.

Final Word
Eye of Judgment is unlike anything the gaming world has seen yet. There are all the hallmarks that could lead to a dedicated community, thanks to the inclusion of the crucial online component. EoJ proves innovation is alive and well on the PlayStation 3. Card fans will be enthralled by the elegantly simple gameplay that allows for some nuanced and intricate strategies. We found the game to be innovative and entertaining from start to finish, especially with the PlayStation Eye playing a central role. Hopefully, there will be other decks and cards down the road that can give strategists more layers to find the perfect combinations for beating their opponents. Eye of Judgment is aimed at a specific audience so that doesn't make it for everyone. Those that are curious might find themselves converts because of the high level of polish. True gamers owe it to themselves to play one of the most unique titles ever to be released.

Default Eye of Judgment?

I'm usually not the type of person to go for these card/cult games. Yes cult... You know what I mean. But I've read reviews and was reading the package at work and it really does look pretty cool. I might go pick it up. Anyone played it yet? How is it?

I heard great reviews also but like you said; I'm staying away from the card battle trend. The Playstation Eye doesn't interest me much since they completely scrapped the HD Cam idea. I'm just waiting for the big November releases.
