Oh believe me, I know all about running out and buying entire boxes of MTG cards. Oh Vampiric Tutor, how I miss thee.

My point is that the cards are irrelevant to the game to begin with, and not including at least the original 90 or 120 cards to owners is an insult. The game is already plenty expensive with the camera. To know that I'll have to go out and buy another $30+ of cards just to be competitive is ridiculous. To call this a CCG is a misnomer, as the cards really serve no purpose.

I'm not trying to whine about this, I just feel very strongly about it. I was really excited about this game, and would love to play it. But I for one cannot support this kind of marketing and extortion.

5 Things You *Don’t* Know: THE EYE OF JUDGMENT

$10 more than a regular game isn't bad at all for all that hardware.

A word of caution to anyone who (like me) is considering jumping into The Eye of Judgment for the game itself.

From past experience with Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro CCG products (notably Magic: The Gathering), the "themed" card decks like those featured above that are being sold are always the same pre-set cards, and work about 60-70% as well as a custom built deck.

I would advise against buying the theme decks if you plan on playing online, as people who have actually invested the time, money, and forethought into a more complete card collection will generally hand you your ass on a platter.

some themed decks in MTG were quite good, depending on the rare cards in it

No. They were all mediocre. Some were just "less mediocre" than others.

Does anyone know how many cards come with it? Plus how many cards are planned on being made?

**Edit** I just now got to watch that video with sound (no sound at work) and they said it on there. Sorry for wasting time.

5 Things You *Don’t* Know: THE EYE OF JUDGMENT

Includes:

• (1) Starter deck (includes 30 Summoning Cards + 4 Function Cards)
• (1) Booster pack (includes 8 randomly inserted Summoning Cards with one guaranteed to be rare or ultra rare)

Don't know how many they plan to make.

I hope Europe gets the box container rather than that plastic nastiness.

IGN gives The Eye of Judgment an Impressive - 8.0 | Video Review

Quote:
As we've mentioned above, Eye of Judgment will appeal to a very, very select audience, but that audience will get a lot of enjoyment out of the title. I personally had a great time with it, although not everyone in the office had the same reaction. Take this into account before investing the money, but we can say with confidence that this is a fun card game that, if in the hands of card lovers, will be rather well received.

Now go do some Judging.

I'm actually pretty freakin stoked about this and will be picking one up on Monday. It's for the PS3 and made by Sony and Wizards...This could really be the future of card games. If Wizards made Magic using this format PS3 sales would go through the roof. I'm pretty impressed by the fact that it is also a stand alone card game as well. This is truly nextgen as far as gaming tech. goes.

Something else to think about as well, Sony Online Entertainment acquired Worlds Apart (online CCG developer) late last year. And they have quite a few assets which are already online.

O.M.G. if other card companies jumped on board with this it would be awesome. If I could pick ant CCG it would be L5R. When I saw that Samurai in the demo I thought " How freakin cool would something like this be for L5R"? I plan on getting a few decks and boosters at launch just to mix it up a bit. From what I hear, you'll get bored with that starter deck pretty quick.
