Fear not! It looks as though the whole package will cost the same as a regular PS3 title - $60!

$60? Sold if the game is decent!

All us old collectible card game players (Magic: The Gathering, etc.) have a soft spot for games like this. Give me online play and cool mechanics, and I'm in for the win.

Gamespot The Eye of Judgement Impressions

Quote:
The game has a firm Japanese release date of 25th October, and while Sony is hoping for a simultaneous worldwide release, we'll have to wait for confirmation. Until then, we hope to bring you more on The Eye of Judgement soon.

$60!!! That is awesome! I will be getting that! I still am not sure of the online play with random people. I trust my friends not to cheat and pull cards, but not most people that play online. I wish that everyone played fair, but come on, too a lot of people stats are worth more then honesty!

I heard they are incorporating some type of anti-cheat system, where the game actually assigns you a deck based on the cards that you have. It was from an interview, and I'm positive of that. I had the same concern, but don't worry.

Yes the cards are registered/tracked so people can't cheat.

I understand that you have to register the cards, but I am worried that people will hand pick a certain card, instead of just drawing like normal.

Maybe it is registering packs and the pack knows what cards belong.

We will see.
I am not talking about people pulling cards that they don't actually own, I mean what if the player needs a certain card that he actually owns and has registered. What is to keep him from looking through his deck and hand picking the card, instead of just drawing off the top like your supposed to?

Anyone have a guess about whether the EyeCreate editing software will be included with this game?

I read something or listened to an interview some time ago. I'm pretty sure they had cheating covered - I'm just fuzzy remembering the details of how they did it. They made the point that there was no point to the on-line otherwise.

"There have been talks," Christy tells us finally. "I have also had the pleasure of demoing the game for George Lucas."

More card based games based on star wars? If it got as far as demoing for George himself ..then it has some legs I'd say..

I also had this concern and I want to say that I've read the solution, but that maybe a fallacy. Either way, my belief is that once you scan your deck into the game, that the game then does your shuffling and tells you what card(s) to draw. This is the only thing I can think of to solve the aforementioned problem.

However, it goes back into validating my claim that the whole card and camera aspect of the game is both cumbersome and unnecessary. I don't see this game doing well, having to buy more cards 8 at a time sounds both ridiculous and expensive. Not to mention the niche market it's already aimed at. I think they'd do a lot better for just selling this on the PSN for $20 or $30.

This is correct. Check the 1UP show link above, they actually talk about this. The game draws the cards, and you just pick it out of your deck and put it into your hand when playing online.

8 card packs is nothing new to us old school CCG players of Magic: The Gathering. Though I'll be the first to say I'm not in a hurry to get into yet another money-pit CCG.

Eye of Judgment arrives in beautiful box

I don't know if the retail box will be quite that extravagant but it's a good sign. I assume one of those disks is for press materials.

Card Games are expensive eventually, but you know Warhammer is ridiculous.

I like seeing those little guys with really detailed armors and stuff.
