Disney No Country for Old Men (2007) (Collector's Edition)

No Country for Old Men Blu-ray + DCopy

No Country for Old Men Blu-ray

On Blu-ray, April 7. A great movie with a proper blu-ray release. I will definitely double-dip.

Picture and audio were fantastic the first time around, and the new extras don't interest me. Disc two appears to just be the frisbee "digital copy" disc. Pass for me...

If the digital copy is the only new addition, forget it. I'm still ok with the sd dvd.

Instead of PCM we get DTS-HD which doesn't really make a difference. So really if the only additional material is the special features then I see no reason to double dip. Still awesome movie though.

yep, there's thousands of movies that would be great to have
studios release this year but instead we get double dips of
CASINO ROYALE and now NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN...

I say show the studios that it's a little early in the game to expect
blu-ray fans to double dip with such limited selection out there
and COMPLETELY ignore stuff like this.

This kind of crap really pisses me off. I'd rather they did it right the first time.
What ever happened to "do it once, do it right"?

That rarely applied to DVD releases, and Blu releases will be the same.

I love extras on home video; they are half the reason I purchase (well... almost half). These new special features aren't anything to write home about, so to speak. A couple of TV interviews and such. There will be very little double-dipping in the Blu community but good for those who haven't purchased this yet... I guess

I don't think "double dips" started until there were thousands of DVDs already released. We're at..what..a little over 1,000 BDs and are already seeing double dips? That is pathetic.

If you're content with what you have then don't buy the new one.. Simple as that. You really have nothing to be pissed at. If you didn't like the first release you shouldn't have purchased it, but you did. No one forced you to..

If the new content is valuable enough to you, you'll dish out money to get it. If not you won't.

I really hate seeing "2 disc" when disc 2 is just a digital copy. Damn marketing jerks!!!

I may pick this 2 disc version up if I can get it as cheap as I've seen the previous release ($9.97 CAD), but I'm in no hurry. I'm mainly just interested in the movie itself with this one so the 1 disc release will definitely do for now.

EDIT - after checking through those extras, maybe I won't be getting it regardless of price. I still don't see a commentary unless that is "NEW: Six Additional Audio Interviews". How else would you "watch" an audio interview besides over the movie, but why not just say commentary if that's the case?

i wonder if TDK will have a double dip sooner than we think as a result of all the oscar noms (and potential wins)....the PQ/AQ were great on the initial release but i'm hoping they eventually pull a "no country for old men" and release another edition with many more special features. i'm not talking about in a few months or anything, just perhaps sometime much later this year

"Proper" meaning feature-packed. The movie's PQ and AQ are absolutely perfect on the first blu-ray release.

I had a strong feeling this was going to happen when I noticed there were useless extras on the first home release. I'll stick with the BD I have now.
