Default Blu-ray is one of the better transfers of a film more than 10 -years old!

just found one....dvdbeaver

A Time to Kill on Blu-ray is one of the better transfers of a film more than 10 -years old put to 1080P. It looks quite flawless. Detail is exceptional - so much so that I was anticipating some edge-enhancement but I could find no evidence - even zooming in extensively. Colors look true and vibrant, while contrast is pristine. Light balances playfully on the characters prevalent sweat (abundant in the film) and there is occasional depth. Truly, I can find nothing to complain about - it is neither glossy nor flat. Technically it reveals a reasonable bitrate with the disc data filling almost 35 Gig of the dual-layered disc. The image allows for a consistent and seemingly accurate presentation of A Time to Kill that is immensely impressive in motion. Warner, utilizing the VC-1 encode produced a magnificent image with this transfer.

I loved the book, but I don't think I ever saw the movie all the way through.

I would give it another look...the cast is stellar and the acting is superb. Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd aren't bad to look at either.

I will add this to my collection. I have the DVD but hate watching it because you have to flip over the disc to get the second half of the movie.

I second that! It would make a great fit in my somewhat crazy range of titles for my collection!

I found the movie a bit long, not my style but I sure love the speech at the end by Matthew McConaughey when he's talking to the jury, that part alone make's it a mazing movie.

I will probably not buy this, not a movie I will want to watch again but will probably look amazing on BD

Again that speech at the end is just amazing, anyone who as not seen this movie, rent it at least just for that.

Sort of bland and predictable - it is distinguished from a TV Movie of the Week by its cast (including the late Patrick McGoohan if memory serves), but otherwise, not much to write home about.

Thanks for the info. It just arrived so hopefully I'll get a chance to watch it tonight. I'm really looking forward to it since I haven't seen it in quite a while.

Yeah, I had to get it from Amazon. Couldn't find it locally on Tuesday (yesterday). Amazingly, it only took a day to arrive from Amazon (ordered yesterday morning and it arrived today around 4:15pm).
