Default Tom Cruise: Past or Present?

Is Tom still the man? Is Tom done? What is the future of Tom Cruise?

Thoughts, opinions?

Honestly I was never a fan of him. Never felt like watching Mission Impossible or Minority Report, haven't seen his older classics, and if I saw his recent movies it wouldn't be for him.

I did like him in Tropic Thunder.

He was good when he was younger. He left the rez at some point, and I don't watch many of his newer movies ever since the couch jumping incident. He was pretty good in Tropic Thunder tho.

I think he is a fine actor. He might be a slightly better actor now than he was before, but marginally different.

That being said, I wouldn't want that man promoting my movie. I would be deathly afraid of what he would say.

He has his moments... both good and bad. I thought Minority Report and A few Good Men were great. So was Magnolia, and what guy doesn't like Top Gun. It seems like the secret to getting him do a good movie, is to have him do just the acting. When he gets involved producing and executive producing or involved in any other kind of way, things seem to go a bit wrong. lol

Tom Cruise is a fantastic actor. His best movies are Far & Away and The Last Samurai.. and I loved his small part in Tropic Thunder. I enjoyed Minority Report as well. Haven't seen Days of Thunder or Top Gun yet.

The only movie I ever liked from him was The last Samurai.

Haven't seen Top Gun (1986)?!?!? What planet are you from?

That is Tom's THE claim to fame... in all honesty.

And Days of Thunder (1990)? That's a double bogey... right there.

Seriously, you need to get on that. He was the All-American boy. Then he turned to placenta.

Did you not like Tony Scott or something?
