Default Which sub & wires/cables/connectors with Yamaha 663 & Paradigm Monitor 7?

OK, after much research (thanks to the helpful folks here), I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on my sound system.

I'm going got go 2.1 for now and slowly add center and maybe surrounds when I have more hobby money.

Here's what I've decided on so far:
Yamaha 663
Paradigm Monitor 7's for fronts.

What sub should I get? I mainly watch movies. I like "feel it in your gut bass." But, not distorted sounding loud bass (if this makes sense).

Also, I want everything to arrive kinda at the same time so I can hook it up right away as opposed to what I've done in the past which is buy equipment forgetting about the cables and having to wait longer.

What speaker wires/cables should I buy? Any special wire connectors that I need to know of?

I already have some HDMI cables from monoprice already.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I originally budgeted $1500 total but it looks like I'm going to go over because my total on my receiver and 2 fronts is already at $1,257.

So I'm thinking maybe another $750 max?

Maybe I can go cheap on the cables because i can always get better cables, but I'd be stuck with a sub that I had to settle on?

My original budget is already more than I should be spending, but my birthday is in a couple of months so maybe I'll just rationalize it all somehow.

I would look at this sub, and get some cheap 12-16 gauge speaker wire from monoprice until you can upgrade to something more substantial.

I agree with Monoprice for your speaker wire and sub cable. That would seem like change for the amount you need for 2ch, then you can get a good sub such as the one JasonR recommended and I haven''t heard the MFW-15 but I've read many good things about it - it'll be just enough for you new budget with the Monoprice cables.

If you want to stay closer to your original budget - for other subs, I might as well mention the ED A2-300 although I have not heard it I'm sure someone else will recommend it for only $350 shipped and really good reviews.

Since you mentioned you want the "feel it in your gut bass." But, not distorted sounding loud bass.. I would also suggest an SVS PB10 NSD - not just because I'm using one but it fits what you are looking for for $429 and a 45 day money back guarantee, if you don't like it just send it back(just gotta pay shipping). I have 2 subs and sometimes depending what I'm listening to it gets a little boomy - then I'll switch one off and keep the SVS on for cleaner sound.

Good luck on your decision.
