Default Paradigm Monitor 7 mains & CC -190 center

On order Paradigm Monitor 7 mains & CC -190 center.
Still need to get the rears for 5.1 sound. ? Do I get the ADP-190 or 390 to go with this system. The ADP-390 are big bucks that i would rather not spend. ( will use my old Infinity infadecables for now)
for now)
I wanted to stick with a good speaker NOT made in China!!
Paradigm's are Canada made. ? Any good.

I would say save yourself a couple bucks and go ADP190... there will be other things far more important that you'll want to put your money into than rear speakers.

I say you go to 6th ave.com and get a pair of titans for the rear for 348.00 a pair!

I did! The Price or the add to cart will not show on
page. So I called and they said Paradigm will not let them sell out of state.
Web page will not give me the option. (no buy no add to cart)

I have a Paraidgm set-up as well. Monitor 7s with a CC- 290. Are you running with a sub? IMO Titans seem a bit excessive for rears. Have you consider going Atoms for rears and save some bucks? I have Atoms as rears.

In 5.0 channel set-up 85-90% of your sound is coming through your center and fronts. Rears are for ambient sounds in an HT set up. I would even argue that Atoms are a bit excessive for rears.

Since you are looking at dipoles, my guess is that you aren't looking for rears for multi channel audio set-up (SACD) but rather HT.

Just my advice though. Keep in mind, I'm not a bass freak and that much bass in the rears would be a distraction rather than a benefit for me.

I guess your right but for 348.00 thats still cheaper then atoms.I never thought about it that way they might be too strong for rears. That makes sense.I wonder why some people put 5Floorstands all the way around?Or why some people By 5 Of the same bookshelf speakers?

The Titans more expensive than the Atoms? That's a bit odd given that the Atoms are supposed to be the monitor version of the 7s and Titan's I believe the monitor version of the 9's (or 11's).

The only reason that I would see five towers as being ideal (given price/performance ratio) is five channel SACD. I'm a two channel type guy for music so I wouldn't even do that even if I had the cash (I would just buy better fronts). To me it's weird having some sound in front of you, eg singer and other sounds behind you eg. instruments.

As far as monitors all around are concerned, I think if you're running with a sub you can get away with monitors for fronts, since you sending what's generally the weak point of monitors - the low frequencies, to the sub. I've heard some great monitors though with fantastic bass and I no longer think of them as just a compromise from towers.

I don't aspire to the sentiment that anything can be "too strong" for the rears - that's why you have EQ'ing, crossovers and individual level controls.

I have Paradigm Monitor 11v4's for my rears and they're excellent for both multi-channel music and movies. I wouldn't trade them for bookshelves at all. I enjoy being able to crank it when I want to, but also they're excellent at low levels too and I usually have them crossed over at 60Hz.

The reason why people buy 5 of the same bookshelf is to get perfect timbre matching all round, but if your mids and tweeters are the same across the front that's about as much as I think you should care about. If you don't do much multi-channel listening on the music front, your need for floorstanding rears would be much less. SACD/DVD-A are the main reason I went with floorstanding surrounds.

For 6ave the ones you can add to the cart are shippable, the ones that say "Authorized dealer" are within state.

OK we are both right or wrong . I called they will NOT sell the ADR 190 out of state. ($396 a pair) But Paradigm will let them sell the Titans ($696 a pair) out of state. The man said Paradigm is over stocked with them??? (the Titans ) Looking at the list of others some you can get most others you can not. I will stick with the adr 190 for the price.( Rear 5.1 surround )

Yes I have a 10" infinity powered sub. I do not like to be over powered in the rears so I think I will stick with the smaller ADP190's I would have liked to go with the CC- 290 center instead of the cc-190 but did not have the room that is a big speaker. And $$$ I hope the cc-190 will sound and pair up with the 7's

I am saving my shekels to buy a pair of Monitor 7's v.5...I like them a lot. Recently compared them to the Monitor Titans v.6 and found a big difference in the upper range. The Titans were upper range heavy while the 7's were much smoother. I am not surprised at this merely noting the difference as they are significantly different set ups. I compared them to try to get a feel for the difference between the 7's and my current Monitor 3's which I felt were a bit similar to the Titans though my 3's are smoother than the Titan.

I would have bought the cc290 over the 190. I have both, lol, and the 290 was a dramatic improvement over the 190. Dialogue is much more clear and pronounced compared to the 190. I'm not slamming your choice or the cc just stating the differences I noticed since I have both.

Paradigm speakers have a very good reputation for delivering very good sound at a reasonable price. For my money and ears I will always buy Paradigm.

My dealer wanted $239 more for the cc-290 and I am not sure if it would fit under the tv stand . Hope I am not sorry. I take it that my Onkyo TXSR606 (90 watts ) will be ok to drive them.

Hey nice price for the Titans.

I'm looking at a pair myself for side surrounds, but was hoping to match my rears with minis or go ADP-390.
