Default Klipsch rf-82 or Paradigm monitor 11 system

Ok I have a hard decision to make. Money for money they are about the same. I See the pros and cons of both and I think that if I get one I will wish for the other. I just want that system that complete WOW factor and want to see it, hear it and feel it down in your guts feeling. Help me out Boys!!!

ive never heard the Paradigm's but I love my Klipsch Setup. Im running more watts than their supposed to handle and they just seem to ask for more.
Ive heard the Paradigm's are supposed to be great as well but arent they more power hungry?

wow you have the 7 series.... I have lloked for them for a long time and all I can find is the 35 series. It really lookis identical to everything on the 82 series. But HALF the cost. Would you say it is a better buy then the 82

you know if I was smarter then, then I am now I would of brought a blu ray and played a couple of different scenes and and probably would have had my answer that day. I loved the power and dynamic range of the klispch. When I heard the paradigm they played Open Range and did the gun fight scene. It was absolutley amazing to me to hear the bullet flying through the air befor it hit its target. It is hard for me to tell.

is an "In-home" of either of them possible? does one place carry both? Can you possibly purchase one set, and return within 30 days if it doesn't work out in your place????? I'd try that.... but if you're that up in the air, I'd say you're not gonna go wrong with either of them......

I hear a lot more possitive things about Paradigm outside of this site...... you hear a lot more about Klipsch here, as it seems A LOT of people have them, mostly because they can be had at more locations I guess..... interesting.....

Hopefully you can find a dealer who has both. I don't care for the Klipsch sound. I have Paradigm. Everyone has different tastes. Shopping for speakers sure is fun. I love to go to all the dealers an audition the numerous brands. Just take a variety of music material with you and have some fun. Happy listening.

Did you buy the system for music or for movies. Everyone keeps asking mr this. Really I have a music background and is what I studied in college. Music has a lot to do with that. But I also understand that Speakers them self only project what the reciever/cdplayer or what have you tell it. We can keep getting deeper and deeper with this. Why Did you Buy Paradigm. WHat was the decideing factor?

I have the following:

F: Paradigm Monitor 11v5
C: Paradigm Monitor CC370v4
R: Paradigm Monitor 11v4
S: Paradigm Servo 15v2

I love the sound of the Monitor 11v5's for music and ht.
I often listen to 2-channel stereo with the speakers set to LARGE on the SACD player, which means there's no bass to the sub, and I'm always impressed with the way the Monitor 11v5's handle lower passages of bass.

For example the rolling bass lines from Tony Levin in Peter Gabriel's "Us" Stereo SACD are very controlled with excellent low range.

I can highly recommend the Paradigm Monitor 11's. I own both the v4's and the v5's.

IMO if a speaker sounds good for music, it will also be great for HT. Klipsch, NHT, B&W to name a few, were too bright for my tastes. Paradigm just sounded the best to me. I would have liked to have gone with the Studio line, but didn't have the funds at the time. I ended up with the monitor line, mated to a H/K receiver. Perfect match to me.

I think the new v5 center channel in the Monitor line (well, the CC290v1 I guess it is now) is better suited between the Monitor 11v5's than the previous CC370 models too.

The CC-370v4 is +/- 2dB from 100Hz.
The CC-290 is +/- 2dB from 80Hz which is a better crossover range for movies, while the CC-390 is from 75Hz, but you've got to make sure you've got a place to put it because it's not small.

If you don't have the money for the Studio line, I'd recommend going with the Monitor 11 line but replace the center with the Studio CC590, which has a frequency response of +/- 2dB down to 50Hz. You should be able to get most dealers down to around $749 for it and according to Gary from Paradigm it should timbre match quite well between the 11's.

The tweeters are pure titanium domes, the mids are co-polymer polypropylene cones and the bass drivers are carbon infused. I actually like the feel of the bass drivers in the v4 line better, but the sound is a wash between the two, with the v5's simply being more efficient.

The picture is designed to show the width of the CC-390, nothing more. Plus I would imagine most people would have the grilles on outside of taking pictures.

The Monitor series are not designed to be sexy, you go for the signature series for that.
