Which SciFi movies captured your imagination the most?

1- Alien-Aliens (Something about the Nostromo in the first one and the fact of them being in some far our System beta II reticuli).

2- The Entire Star Wars Saga. Just too damn great!

3- The Entire Terminator Series.

4- The Entire Riddick (Pitch Black) Series: Great soundtrack, great planets, great stories.

5- A tie between Doom (Great location, similar to Alien), Event Horizon, Sunshine, Dead Space: Downfall, Bladerunner and The Thing. All are great.

Absolutely. It's futuristic vision is, in fact, quite a visionary achievement, but more to the point, is certainly based on science and technology. Like many sci-fi type films, is dystopic in nature. I see your point in asking, though, as those aspects of the movie are blended in quite well, and not to the fore of its presentation like more "traditional" sci-fi films.

Top five Sci-Fi is impossible for me, but in no particular order:

Blade Runner

Back to the Future (all 3 episodes)

Star Wars, Episodes IV & V (but enjoy all, even the horrible acting in I - III)
