Default The Official Premier Acoustic Speakers Thread

Please discuss your Premier Acoustics speakers in this thread. You can include pictures, reviews, or any other comments regarding your speakers.

Manufacturer’s Website: http://www.premieracoustic.com/

Does anyone on this forum have these speakers? I just ordered the PA-8's for a great price and everything I've read on AV reviews sound good. I was considering the polk tsi300's but these PA's were half the price and looked nicer with better stats. After buying the pio 111fd I'm upgrading my home theater system.

havent heard anything bad about them. they're talked about on AVS more than they are here though. They might have some better info. Ive personally never listened to any Premier Acoustic speakers. The specs on the ones you got do look alittle better, but i give the edge to the polks in the costemic dept.

I have a set of the PA-6b and a PA-6c in my set up and can say I am very happy! For the money the premier acoustic and Bic lines of speakers are great values! Music and movie both sound excellent I have a medium size room and am considering getting a set of the Premier Acoustic monitor 4.2 to add in as my surround back speakers! giving me the 6c and b for front stage a Bic H-100 sub and Bic ht- 63 surround! excellent clarity, wonderful sound from all components! you will be happy with PA-8!!!!

I have the PA-120 sub. It's a fantastic subwoofer in my opinion- I've yet to have it disappoint me. If their speaker line is similar, you can expect nice sound at a great value.

I've been reading up on the PA-8F speakers but didn't see good things about Premier Acoustics on Audioholics.com. I'm not sure if I should get some or not.
On AVS and on here there have been good reports and reviews on them.

Default Premier Acoustic ?

Came across this brand and wanted some input from the members.

Here's what I'm thinking :

Fronts left and Right : Premier Acoustic PA-4.2 Monitors
Center : Premier Acoustic PA-6C Center Channel Speaker
Surrounds : Premier Acoustic PA-4.0 Monitors
Sub: Premier Acoustic PA-120

7.1 system

Thanks for the feedback in advance !

Hey I have pa6 C and B for center and fronts paired with BIC h 100 sub and Bic ht 63 surrounds and absolutely love the pa speakers! Excellent for quality and price. I'm thinking of the 4.2 for my rear surrounds in the near future! the only advice I can suggest is make sure the voicing of the 4.2 and pa6c you want for your front sound field will match up well, I decided to go for the pa 6bs for my fronts cause I knew they matched the 6c perfectly!

I have the PA-6F system and figured this thread needed some lovin.

As far as looks go, I think these things are simply beautiful. As you can see in my gallery I got the cherry finish. Looks better in my apartment, I think.

As for performance, my current receiver is only 90wpc, so I'm not getting near the sound out of them as I could. Yet. I'm looking into a new receiver soon. And maybe a power amp.

But even with just the speaker upgrade I've noticed improvement in my sound. Especially in the rears. My old rears were puny compared to these.

So once I get some new power I'll let everyone know how they sound.

Default PA-8F vs Energy C-300 Towers

I currently have all Energy C-series speakers: C 300s fronts, C-C100 center and 4 C-R100 bipole surrounds.

Instead buying one of the expensive Energy 12" subwoofers, I bought dual PA 120 subs to give me a 7.2 HT system. The PA 120s perform exceptionally well at producing clean, tight, deep detailed bass. I am very pleased with them.

So that got me thinking about selling my C-300s and C-C100 speakers and replace them with a pair of PA-8F Towers as fronts, and a PA-8C center. I will keep the Energy C-R100 bipole speakers. Those are definitely keepers.

Any thoughts or comments on why I should or shouldn't make the switch from Energy C-series to Premier Acoustic?

Rwo,

WOW, I cannot believe what I am reading. I would make sure that you can return the PA speakers if you are not happy with them. I would personally think that if you were gonna upgrade that you may be thinking about the PSB Image line, either the older recently discontinued line or even the new highly touted Image line. For about $700-900 You could also consider the Monitor Audio RS6s, they are a little brighter then the Energys, but they are very dynamic with all frequencies.

Of course you are open to do what you want, but I don't think the PAs will be better then the Energys, and the RS6 is one of the best speakers I have ever heard. And the PSBs are a little different then our Energys, and you may find their sound new and fun too.

You may even look at the eD(elemental Designs) tower speakers.
