Unhappy Music support

How does music file support work on PS3?

My specific example is that I can play iTunes+ music on my PS3 without a problem.

I turn on a game (Killzone 2 in this case) and when the playlist reaches the iTunes+ music a dialogue box comes up saying "File type not supported."

I thought in game music was a PS3 issue, not a game issue. If the game supported music and the PS3 could read the filetype, then it worked, but apparently it does not.

Is this something gorilla could fix with an update?

not all file types are supported for in game music.
i've only tried ATRAC rips for in game music. and they all work so far.
that is, providing the game supports the option for so.

So is it the PS3 side, or the game side?

In other words, is it the game that is preventing it, or is it the PS3 OS that is preventing it? In even more words, does it vary game-to-game

i'm gonna say that it's a game thing, because the PS3 already supports your files.
i wouldn't know if it varies from game to game, i only rip into ATRAC, i find MP3 disgustingly inferior.

Music in iTunes plus won't work for in game music. Convert them to MP3s. I found this out in Burnout Paradise and Motorstorm Pacific Rift.

Otherwise, they work fine on the PS3 when you just want to listen to them. I wish the PS3 could read the iTunes plus ID tags though. IIRC the PSP can.
