I'm new to the projector buying world and am building a theatre room that will allow me to put a 124" screen. What would you suggest as a good projector. I'll be running HDMI to it from my Blu-ray. Also, I'm budgeting $4000. Thanks.

For roughly $4k "street prices" for a BNIB, models to consider (in no particular order) are:
Planar 8130 JVC RS10 JVC RS2 Panasonic AE3000U Epson 6500/7500 Epson 1080UB Sony VPL-HW10 Sony VPL-VW60 Sanyo PLV-Z3000 Optoma 8200 Mitsubishi HC7000 Sharp Z15000 BenQ W20000 If you are willing to consider a used projector, there are great deals to be had out there that will get you a little more bang for your buck. |

The Panasonic ae 3000 is very close to the Epson 6500 and either one is great with a slight edge to the Panny from most reviews but to push the budget right at $4k with no screen I'd get the Epson 7500 3 chip projector; then get a fixed screen online but that will likely be another $3-500?
