Default Need Help LN52A650!?!?!?

OK I bought the Samsung LN52A650 about 2 weeks ago with 4 year warranty. I took it home and it has a great picture. But when I put the 120hz to high, the picture is way better than my other 60hz hd tv's and almost 3D like and adds much more depth and is much more fluid with what I am watching or playing but the picture blurs and flickers when something moves faster than normal. I thought the 120hz was for faster movment. It does this also for my XBOX 360 wich has the $100 dollar XBOX HDMI cord and my PS3 wich has the $100 dollar PS3 HDMI cord and also my LG BH200 Blu Ray/HD player that I have the $160 dollar 1,000 Monster HDMI cord for. I called Geek Squad and they just transfered me directly over to Samsung, wich did not answer. I was pressed for time at the moment because I had just gotton back home from a yearlong deployment in Iraq a few days earlier and was just about to go home for leave the next day. So right now my TV is in FT Hood/Killeen Tx and I am in Houston on leave. My question is does anyone elses LN52A650 do the same thing or should I take it back as soon as I get back home? Any help would be greatly aprecciated!!!

First, I would like to say that you have been ripped off. There is no reason that you need to spend $100+ on an HDMI cable. That is a scam that many of us have seen. Monoprice.com supplies cheap HDMI cables that work just the same as your expensive cables.

As far as the 120hz setting, I would just leave it off. I find that it serves little to no purpose. When shopping for a new TV I ended up getting a non-120hz TV because I felt it looked horrible. Now becasue I don't have a 120hz TV I can't help but I know I've heard of people turning off the Auto Motion Plus feature, if you can. I think the TV still operates at 120hz, that is a hardware setting. But the Auto Motion Plus feature is software based and I have heard it does not work well.

May I ask what type of TV programming you are watching when the flickering and blurs appear? Is it the same type? (i.e. sports or movies or regular TV, etc...)

I like my auto motion plus, it took me a bit to get use to it but now I can't watch tv without it on. I must say though I don't notice blurring but I do have the A950 maybe that makes a difference? Ya you got ripped off on your cables dude!!

Cmon guys I got the cables like 3 years ago and they have served their purpose and put in their time and work. One of my best friends bought a cheap 20 dollar hdmi cord and his pictuere kept fluddering and flickering really bad so we went back and bought a 60 dollar 3 foot monster and it solved the problem. But im not asking about the cables, I mentioned them only becuse the 1st question anyone asks is about my HDMI cables. And I like my cables becuse they are thicker than most and they are about 8-9 feet long and have taken a beating in shipping becuse I take all that stuff back and forth to Iraq with me.

It flickers when watching blurays and playing video games.

I have the 52 inch 650 and have had no problems. I also love the 120Hz on high and keep it that way. Sounds like you might have to get it repaired or returned. I hate that for ya. Such a beautiful TV to only have it partly work.

What resolution is the PS3 sending? Is it 1080/24p or 1080/60p?

I don't know. But my 360 and blu ray player also do the same. How do I check it or change it?
