Default Blue ray recorder wanted.

Hi guys, first post.

Im interested in purchasing a BR recorder to archive my HD collection.

Im in the US ( no BR as of yet) so Im looking for any help to have someone purchase & ship one to me. Im willing to pay for this service of course.

I do have a few questions.

1.If I purchase a BR recorder now will it be capadible with the up coming movie titles.

2. Are there any demo sicsa avaiable to purchase with the BR recorder/player.

3. What are the inputs and outputs. I will be dumping my movies from my server.

4. I will also need to know where to buy blank media. I would like to buy qty so I wont have to re frequent puchasing over seas with shipping.

Any help is appreciated.

I'd highly recommend waiting until a Blu-ray player is released in the States. The current BD hardware will not be compatable with future BD decks. Only the future decks will be able to play prerecorded BD movies. Also the price of the current Japanese BD deck is over $3000 (US currency). When BD players are released here in the U.S. they're expected to cost as little as $600.

I forgot how huge and ugly that thing is. I look forward to seeing some slimline BD players in the next few months.

 , that's an old sampling product meant only for japan. At least 2 years old. Sharp has introduced a newer and slimmer model last year.I doubt it can be used anywhere else, different power currents, different tv standards, only able to record a single blu ray layer and no english manual.

To the original poster, be patient, it will come in couple of months and there will be actual announcements pretty soon by early september most likely.

That Sharp model certainly looks different. Far nicer than the old Sony deck.

it is nice looking indeed though I really don't see a disk drive there but maybe it's on side or something. However there are some glitches if you read some reviews from japan . Of course it may be all lost in translation
