Arrow Would you watch a CSI movie?

Don't forget to cast your vote at the top!

CBS' CSI is one of television's surprise success stories. The show, at its core, is simple: self-contained episodes that aren't overly demanding where the good guy gets the bad guy in the end. So why would a perfectly good television show be rumored to get a movie makeover?

According to the UK's Telegraph, former CSI star and current producer William Petersen confirmed that a CSI movie is indeed in the works.

"Yes, there will be a movie," Petersen told The Radio Times. "I can understand people are a little trepidatious because of the franchise around the world and how well it's doing. Usually people leave it until a series has finished - they did that with the X-Files and Sex and the City."

But will CSI's audience--which primarily reside north of the 18-49 demographic--leave their recliners and watch an hour and a half movie when they can watch as much CSI as they want at home? Petersen thinks so.

"But [making the movie is] about finding the right story, there has got to be a real reason to do it," Petersen said. "You don't just do it because you want to make money, you do it because there's a story that can't be told on TV and needs to be told from CSI's perspective and the audience wants it. And we can't wait for CSI to end or Grissom will be about 90."

I wouldn't see it, like the article mentions you can watch all the CSI you want at home. Where is Andyman to start our debate?

I don't think that CSI really supports a movie format. TV shows that go on to have successful movies are able to have a spectacle and a larger then TV type atmosphere. CSI just doesn't have the mechanics to allow something like that, it's geared to a completely different atmosphere. Putting it on the big screen will just make it feel like a long drawn out episode with a lot of fluff filler to add time.

No. The show is on its last leg. 5 years ago I would not miss an episode for anything. The last few years I could care less if I watch it or not. I would rent a movie, but not go to a theatre to see it.

Here I am...

I would but only if they ditched Laurence Fishburne and Peterson came back to reprise his role as Gil Grissom or turned the starring roles over to Marg Helgenberger and Paul Guilfoyle which is what they should have done with the show.

Of course the movie would have to be more graphic and deal with a more liner story line where they could use the entire cast. I'm thinking maybe an investigation of the murder of Capt. Brass' drugged up street walking daughter.

Oh man, yesterday I had to go to the mall, sadly it's the only place to find good sports hats and I'm walking through the mall and I hear the cell phone cover sales guy who was probably about 35 telling two girls "Yeah me and Will Peterson, I call him Will cause he's a great guy anyways me and him have been real close ever since I sold him this cover right here" Now while that already seems funny, I need to mention this Mall is located in a rather small city in Washington State for some reason his pickup involved William Peterson and the girls looked to be about 16 to me.

My vote is no, I don't even bother watching the TV shows, so there is no way I would watch a movie of any CSI type

CSI
CSI Miami
CSI New York
CSI Burlington Vermont
CSI Sewer Dept.
CSI Moon Squad
CSI Galactic Force

yes I am kididing with the CSI names.

Never actually seen a single episode of CSI in any of it's variants, Although I voted No, it could be a way in for those of us not ever having watched it.

one caveat, NO Miami people references, or associations in anyway, that is the most retarded show that there is considering the original CSI is so good.

So the movie is a extended episode with out the commercials? LOL

But truthfully, I dont know about this one. Are the actors from the tv series going to star in it? That would be my first question.

No because it would be like watching a long episode. A made for TV movie would be a better idea.

Nope, hate the shows.

What I think is funny is all the kids that got into school for 'Forensics' and now either can't find jobs, or hate the jobs they have because they're not out playing in the field with blacklights and "lasers".

i do enough CSI at work. the show is BS and i agree you doctorsteve, as a cop that is a CSI, i deal alot with college grads that got into the job because of the tv show. they get pissed when they have to do the paperwork and have to touch dead bodies. no glamour for them.

Same here. I've only wtached about 15 or so episodes from CSI, and it is enjoyable. It would not be a must see.

Isn't that why you guys have a huge semen database though? Because everything is always covered in semen? Still easy to solve those crimes, you shouldn't make things sound harder than they are
