Default HMV Canada - $7 Trade In DVDs for Blu

Credit to AccordTR at HiDefDigest

HMV Canada has an upcoming promotion. You can get $7 trade-in for ANY DVD when you buy certain Fox or MGM blu-rays.

The deal is supposed to run from May 4th to 30th, but I just went to the Yorkdale store and they accepted five DVDs for trade-in.

This applies to items on sale as well, so you can use the 2 for $40 or 2 for $50 promotion, and then take off $7 from each. Also, you get $7 for each disc if you trade in a DVD box set.

Too many titles to remember or mention, but here are a few:

Transporter 1 and 2
Juno
Donnie Darko
Die Hard 1 to 4
All of the Bonds
Or Bond box sets 1 and 2 for $42.99

It includes some latest titles too, but those are still priced at over $30. But you could pick up QoS for $25.99 for example.

Anyway, It's worth checking out.

I got Die Hard 2 and 3 for $36
Goldfinger and Dr. No for $36
Donnie Darko for $14.99.

Again, the credit goes to AccordTR.

LOL. I was literally about to post this as I just came back from HMV. Definitely a good deal folks

Plus it's for a good cause as the DVDs are going to hospitals. I'm actually going to ask if they can accept all my DVDs as a donation without giving me the 7$ back. No way I can buy 100 blu-rays with the trade ins

Just got Office Space and Donnie Darko for 14.99 each. I traded both my dvds of those movies, I figured , might as well get the upgrade of each

Wow great deal, will have to take advantage of this for sure...

Its surprising though, most used dvds aren't even worth $7. I would like to see a full list of qualifying titles if anyone comes across it.

Thanks OP!

I got five this afternoon.

The posters are up, the items are stickered, and the staff at Yorkdale just said to go ahead.

Pretty much most of the titles offered by MGM / FOX. There's really no way for me to tell you all of them as there are 100 titles. I'm going back there tomorrow, if there is any title you are particularly interested in I can check it out for you. Let me know.

I'm not sure that list is 100% accurate. I picked up sideways today and it did not have the sticker like the other titles, most of those titles are true though.

What was the original price of the die hard collection there? My HMV has it at 69.99 and thats the advertised price online as well, minus the 7 dollars would not even be close to what you got it for. Also the X-Men trilogy was not listed as an available choice on the website. How did you get it for that price?

Die Hard collection consists of 4 BDs and some people manage to get 4*7 = $28 discount on it. 69.99-28 = $41.99

Yes, 4x7 for Die Hard and 3x7 for Xmen. The manager did it, and she said the that the sets have a number on them for how many disc discounts. Die hard has a yellow round 4 sticker and Xmen a round 3.
