Default Help me with my sub guys....

i have a boston horizon sudwoofer. I pluged my sub cable into the LFE jack but i find the bass is heavier when i use a spliter and plug into the LT and RT jacks. Is that right or should i just use the LFE since i'm useing my HDMI cable for audio?

What you are experiencing is normal. On many subwoofers, if you use a Y adapter (2 male, 1 female) and connect the sub cable to both Left and Right inputs of the subwoofer, you will get an additional 3dB to 6dB of output. In addition, the Y adapter makes the subwoofer wake up faster from its idle mode.

If you want, I can give you the scientific reason behind it, but it requires a little bit of Physics and may bore most people.

Use the Y adapter and connect the sub cable from the LFE out (sub out or sub pre-out) on the back of the receiver to both right and left inputs on the sub. Turn the level on the back of the sub down and recalibrate your entire system.
