Default RIP light bulb :(

Well, my light bulb just ruptured . I've had my tv for almost 2 and a half years! Now i'm starting to panick lol, i hate it when my stuff doesn't work. It's from a DLP 72MX196. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and i think this store Japan Audio should be able to get me some.

Other than that store and ordering online, do i have any other options?

i dont know about other options, but i wouldnt panic that much. its pretty easy to install a new bulb but it might cost you a couple hundred.

The trick is to convince your wife (if you have one) that the tv is really broken, and unfixable. Maybe you can upgrade to a newer model. j/k

lol, first of all I love my tv and i don't think Toshiba makes any around my size anymore (could be wrong). And second is no, i don't have a wife, i'm only 16.

the dancing banana behind the comment of not having a wife completely struck me funny! This is going to stick with me all day.

I'm not sure..... but if the bulb was that old, I would think you will see an improvement in PQ if you replace it.....but I could be wrong.... Never had a rear projection T.V. before...

either way.... I hear it's easy to replace

Yeah, next time you buy a tv get the added protection plan. That way you get bulbs and any other problems fixed for free.

Do protection plans last that long? Three years? I can't remember, but it seems like the most I was offered was two years.

lol, At 16 it seems i don't have much knowledge about tv's. I know of Plasma, LCD and DLP, but what is the deal with LED's?

I blew a bulb on my old 70inch jvc, instead of buying new bulbs, I sold the tv to a sucker for $5000 and bought myself a KURO

How are the black levels? I found DLP to provide me with exceptional black levels after i was disappointed by seeing Plasma and LCD black levels.
(And i'm guessing you cannot replace the bulb in LEDs?)
