I tend to agree. I barely touch online with any of my games that support it. Online play tends to be pretty thin and lacking in replay value. Not to mention that it's very discouraging to get into because first experiences tend to be you getting owned by a server full of experts.

The only real online gaming I've ever done on a console was FFXI. At best, I tried a bit of online with Tony Hawk 4. On the PS3, I played a few battles on Guitar Hero 3, which was more or less no different than playing single player only with somebody else on the screen who I pretty much beat every time. I tried a few races in Ridge Racer 7, but couldn't manage to come close to winning a single race against anybody; single player was challenging enough for me.

Which leaves me with CoD4, which I bought specifically to try the online thing. I played through single player on easy or normal and enjoyed it, but I'm not big on FPS anymore so it was a "good" experience but far from crazy awesome. I haven't even loaded up online yet because I know I'll get my ass handed to me by veteran FPS gamers.

So yeah, online, I really could care less. I'll take offline multiplayer over it any day of the week.
